Shuli Youpin was established in 2020 and is a leading children's reading community service provider in China. The following is a letter written by CEO Wu Bo from the book to his fellow members: Seize new opportunities, never forget your original intention, and move forward courageously.

 

Dear member partners

 

It has been over nine months since the last article was published on April 23, 2020. In such a long time, many friends want to know that we have all done it. During this period, we have also faced many "question marks" that have sparked our constant thinking. As an e-commerce oriented company, do we need to continue to grow, pursue growth, or think more about things based on customer value? This thinking actually comes not from the brain and reality, but from the heart. Regarding this issue, it has been the most thought-provoking issue we have had in the past year.

 

2020 has been a year of ups and downs, and we are fortunate to have grown up, taken the first step, and made so many friends in this year. We often say in groups that we all want to do one great thing, but in the eyes of many people, the products in the book seem to be similar to many social e-commerce models in the market, always unable to escape those paths and following the path of previous generations. If that's the case, wouldn't it be too boring.

 

 

2020 is a year of continuous exploration, giving us the courage to face the future

 

During the period of rapid growth from May to September last year, we pressed the deceleration button because during this process, in addition to this pile of magnificent digital growth, we suddenly realized that what we want is not to pursue growth itself, but to seize trends and create a larger future based on long-term goals. And in this process, the key reason is whether we need to create our own customer value for our customers.

 

 

In this process, our perspective switches to 'What long-term value do I need to solve for customers and how should I do it?' instead of 'What benefits do we need and how do we need customers to do it?' Suddenly, we realize that the answer is easy to find.

 

 

Based on this, we are also taking action in the following six months:

 

Starting from October, our positioning has shifted to focusing on B services, and Slogan has become "love sharing, love reading";

 

At the end of October, we established the "Reading Club" to help members gain more growth opportunities in reading services;

 

Starting from November, we are constantly searching for brands and enterprises (such as community property groups) that we can collaborate with, with the goal of helping our member clients create long-term benefits and create more development scenarios in the future;

 

In December, China's leading digital reading platform "Zhangyue Technology" and social value enterprise fund "Heroad Investment" led the investment book and obtained tens of millions of investments;

 

In December, we attempted to focus on books and combine them with other educational and other branded products to create more revenue for our member customers;

 

At the end of December, the first subsidiary of the book, Youpin, was established with the participation of members to independently develop a curriculum education system related to parent-child reading and other aspects;

Bezos said, 'We need to build our strategy on unchanging things.' We believe that the long-term value that can be created for our members is scarce and unchanging things. Instead of investing our energy in capturing infinite and flowing things, and putting all resources into unchanging things, this is such an exciting principle.

Firstly, not all companies selling the same product are competitors, and we will not choose competitors or actively compete with others.

 

Our colleagues and member partners often feel anxious about what they are doing elsewhere, forming many invisible comparisons and becoming very similar to other places in the process of doing things. The good things about others, perhaps after a few years, have adapted to their form and customers. The tip of the iceberg is always only that 10%, which is also a relatively dangerous place. This intangible and intangible thing will make us very similar to others.

 

No matter what competitors are doing, they won't give you money

 

Therefore, our member partners and company classmates, as long as we focus on doing ourselves well and adhere to the goals we want to achieve, we will have tremendous strength in the future.
